Figure Drawing
This class is for those interested in drawing the figure as we will be working alongside a live model. Our friend and professional ballet dancer Polly, will be working dynamically on the day and we will be looking at the figure, form, silhouettes and spaces that can be created with the body. We will be looking at drapery and how the body interacts with fabric, engaging too for those with an interest in fashion design.
The day will consist of introducing the group to a number of approaches to drawing in graphite, charcoal, frottage and paint colour washes, with the emphasis on creatively working from primary sources and direct observation. For context, the practice on the day will be punctuated with examples of historical and contemporary artists' use of the same subject matter in their work.
